The Boathouse Hotel is in a nice spot at the bottom of Porth y Felin, and was (is?) apparently the only hotel in Holyhead . If you were a resident you could drink round the clock. There used to be a signed photo of Frank Bruno in the bar- rumour has it that he did actually stay there once and gave the photo as a souvenir, but it was Sasha that wrote "All the best to the Boathouse" on it..
Meet you at The Boathouse for a few Nelsons before work yeah..

The Welsh phrase "chwarae teg" meaning "fair play", seemed to be used excessively in Holyhead (why?).
Don't be sly no- It's not his fault he's got a gammy leg and walks funny. Chwara teg, yeah. Fair do's.

'Mochyn' (meaning pig) must be the rudest word in the Welsh language, and can only be surpassed in rudeness by Mochyn Budr (meaning dirty pig). A derogatory term only used when all else fails.
Have you cachu'd your cegs again? Dos o 'na Mochyn budr!!

The legendary Friday night spot at the Beach Hotel (Trearddur Bay) where you could go after Walter called last orders at the Seacroft, and get smashed on Pernod whilst listening to '3am Eternal' and 'Tainted Love' more than once in the same night. Famous for inventing the Singapore Sling. Was very popular in the early 1990s and closed I think in the mid 90s. Not to be confused with the 'Raffles' in Singapore which, I believe, is still going.
C'mon down it yeah, let's get to Raffles before it gets too busy yeah. Might get a snog yeah.
